Schemes on Skill Development in ESDM sector

The employment in the Electronics Industry is estimated to grow phenomenally. Hence to facilitate skill development in the ESDM sector focusing on students/unemployed youth at 9-10th standard onwards. I. Diploma, Non-engineering graduates, etc. to increase their employability to work in Manufacturing and Service support functions, a Scheme for Financial Assistance to select States/UTs for Skill Development in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector was approved by Deity in November, 2013. A total of 50.000 persons are to be supported under the scheme in the selected States in 5 levels of vocational skull development courses recognized by NIELIT/Electronic Sector Skill Council/Telecom Sector Skill Council. The total outlay of the Scheme is Rs. 113.77 crore with Grant-in-Aid of Rs 100 crore (approx)

The scheme provides for 75% of training fee as assistance for training courses identified by Electronics Sector Skills Council Telecom Sector Skits Council and NIELIT The scheme also provides for 100% fee reimbursement to 40% of the seats which would be reserved for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Economically weaker sections Further, Registration cum-Certification fee per candidate for the D first attempt only) would also be reimbursed to assessing/certifying agencies

 pert Committee constituted by the Government to recommend the basket of courses which could be covered under the said Enquiry home had recommended 47 courses so far for rollout of the scheme the state of Karnataka has launched one course already and the other selected states and the three key implementing agencies v NELIT ESSC and TSSC are in the process of identifying state level training agencies in the respective states for launching these courses.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

Skill India is an initiative of the Government of India which has been launched to empower the youth of the country with skill sets which make them more employable and more productive in their work environment. Our National Skill Mission is chaired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi himself. India is a country today with 65% of its youth in the working age group. If ever there is a way to reap this demographic advantage, it has to be through skill development of the youth so that they add not only to their personal growth, but to the country’s economic growth as well.

Skill India offers courses across 40 sectors in the country which are aligned to the standards recognised by both, the industry and the government under the National Skill Qualification Framework. The courses help a person focus on practical delivery of work and help him enhance his technical expertise so that he is ready for day one of his job and companies don’t have to invest into training him for his job profile.

The Skill Mission launched by the Prime Minister on 15 July 2015, has gathered tremendous steam under the guidance of Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.during the last one year. The target to train more than a crore fresh entrants into the Indian workforce has been substantially achieved for the first time. 1.04 Crore Indians were trained through Central Government Programs and NSDC associated training partners in the private sector.

For the first time in 68 years of India’s independence. a Ministry for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been formed to focus on enhancing employability of the youth through skill development. The skill ecosystem in India, is seeing some great reforms and policy interventions which is reinvigorating and re-energising the country’s workforce today, and is preparing the youth for job and growth opportunities in the international market. The Hon’ble Prime Minister’s flagship scheme. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal kas wana (PMKVY alone, has till date seen close to 20 lakh people get skilled and prepared for a new successful India.

India harbors responsibility for ensuring implementation of Common norms across all skill development programs in the try so that they are all standardized and aligned to one object. The iTi ecosystem has also been brought under Skill India for Inquiry sering better results in vocational education and training.

The success of a nation always depends on the success of its youth and Skill India is certain to bring a lot of advantages and opportunities for these young Indians. The time is not far when India will evolve into a skilled society where there is prosperity and happiness.

National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC)

National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC) is a not-for-profit company set up by the Ministry of Finance, under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 corresponding to Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. Further, NSDC provides funding to build scalable and profitable vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is also to enable a support system which focuses on quality assurance, information systems and train-the-trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. It also develops appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. The differentiated focus on 21 sectors under NSDC’s purview and its understanding of their viability will make every sector attractive to private investment.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan(PMGDISHA)

Making one person in every family digitally literate is one of the integral components of the Prime Minister’s vision of “Digital India”. Pradhan Mantr Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan is the scheme to make six crore persons in rural areas, across States/UTS, digitally.

To make a person digitally literate, so that he/she can operate digital devices (like Tablets, Smart phones etc) send and receive emails & browse the Internet for information and undertake digital payment etc.

Eligibility Criteria -Nominated digitally illiterate person from every eligible rural household.
Age: 14 to 60 years
Course Duration -20 Hours (Minimum 10 Days and Maximum 30 Days)
Medium of instruction
Official Languages of India -4
Fee-NIL

Place of Learning -The eligible households can nominate one person from their family. The selected person to get themselves enrolled under this programme in a nearest Training Center/ Common Service Center (CSC),

Evaluation

Independent external evaluation will be conducted by a National level certifying agency like NIELIT, NIOS. IGNOU HKCL ICTACT, NIESBUD etc.
